Walk the Walk grant awarded to FACT

We are delighted to announce that Walk the Walk have awarded a grant of £167,000 to FACT.

Walk the Walk have supported FACT since 2010. This grant and previous grants over the years have enabled FACT to meet the real needs of real people - offering support groups, counselling, complementary therapies, wigs, mastectomy wear, bereavement support, kindness kits, nutritional advice, fitness sessions and much, much more!

Nina Barough CBE, Founder and Chief Executive of breast cancer charity Walk the Walk said: “The work which Joanne and FACT do across the North East to support people living with cancer is nothing short of remarkable. I never cease to be inspired by Joanne’s incredible enthusiasm and her commitment to help those who are in so much need. Walk the Walk is delighted to make another grant to this wonderful charity, especially at this time, with the increased impact of so many people being diagnosed late with secondary cancers, because of the pandemic. The crucial support of charities like FACT is needed now, more than ever”.

Walk the Walk is a grant making breast cancer charity in the UK. Being a grant making charity means that everybody taking part in their walking challenges, including the popular Moonwalk, is raising money for Walk the Walk, then they grant the funds to other charities and organisations throughout the UK, to help them reach the united goals and ambitions of treating breast cancer.

Founded in 1998 by Nina Barough, following her own breast cancer diagnosis, and her passion for fitness, Walk the Walk are dedicated to raising money and awareness for vital breast cancer causes and to encourage women, men and children to start walking as a way of keeping fitter, healthier and as an important part of cancer prevention.
